Public Enemies: Jay-Z vs Kanye Documentary
Channel 4 UK finally debuted the much talked about documentary Public Enemies: Jay-Z vs Kanye in its entirety on Monday and it does leave a lot to think about. The film documents the two powerhouses’ relationship from being best of friends at one point to estranged partners on this day.
The documentary’s release comes at a time when there has been a lot of talk about the relationship between the two Hip-Hop icons. If you remember, in one of his last Saint Pablo shows in Sacramento, West called out Jay-Z for not reaching out to him following the infamous Kim Kardashian robbery. “Jay-Z, call me bruh, you still ain’t called me. Talk to me like a man,” shouted Kanye in the stadium. As we know, Kanye hasn’t produced on a Hov song since 20111’s Watch The Throne.

The documentary also features “unseen footage” and interviews/comments from people like Clark Kent, Just Blaze, Jay-Z’s ex teacher at school, GLC, Touré and more. It presents some theories about their relationship as well: that Jay signed Kanye to his Roc-A-Fella label under the guise of a rapper but not having the intention to put out an album, that Jay-Z tried to stop Kanye from releasing ‘Through The Wire’ and only started supporting once it became a hit, Jay and Beyonce never liked ‘Ye’s relationship with Kim Kardashian, and more.
